3/6/25 CDL Information Session - RIDOT/RILTAP
The CDL Training Pilot Program is currently takin place. As a reminder, 20 seats are available first come, first served for 1 seat per municipality. Up to 2 seats per municipality may be available depending upon interest by the application deadline. 2024 CDL RoundTable (click here for the audio from it). Stephen Daignault from Narragansett started off and then Ben Skurka from Pawtucket DPW spoke and sent the following information:
Here are a couple hyperlinks to get information on ELDT. I also have attached the two forms I spoke about today (below). There really isn’t to much to this. The biggest part is finding a competent person to have/hire as a trainer. Then that person basically files these application and waits to get responses from the DMV and the Post-Secondary Commission. I’m more than happy to meet with anyone regarding this information. We could meet here at DPW and I can help in any way I can.
The first part is :
- Fill out the forms I have attached (below) and send them to proper channels listed on each form
- Go to FMCA website and register your trainer and place you will hold trainings.
- Have the trainer build a curriculum that works for them
- Setup classes and run with it
